What You'll Learn
1 Select Video to Trim
Navigate to your Klippers.ai dashboard and choose the video you want to trim. You can select from recently uploaded videos or browse your complete library.
The trimming tool works with all video formats and lengths. It's perfect for removing intros, outros, dead air, mistakes, or any unwanted sections.
2 Use Dual-Slider Interface
Use the dual-slider timeline interface to select the exact portion of video you want to keep:
- Left Handle - Drag to set the start time of your segment
- Right Handle - Drag to set the end time of your segment
- Timeline Preview - See visual thumbnails as you scrub through the video
- Time Display - View precise timestamps in MM:SS format
The interface provides frame-accurate selection, ensuring you capture exactly the content you want.
3 Add Trim Segment
Once you've selected your desired segment using the dual-slider, click the "Add Segment" button to save it to your trim list.
The segment will appear in the list below with its start and end times clearly displayed. You can add as many segments as needed.
4 Add Multiple Segments (Optional)
Repeat the process to add multiple segments from different parts of your video. This is useful for:
- Combining highlights - Create a best-of compilation from a long video
- Removing multiple sections - Cut out several unwanted parts throughout your video
- Rearranging content - Select segments in any order to restructure your video
- Creating chapters - Extract specific sections like intro, main content, and outro
Segments will be combined in the order they appear in your trim list, creating smooth transitions between each section.
5 Review Selected Trims
Review all your selected segments in the trim list. Each segment displays:
- Start time and end time
- Duration of the segment
- Preview thumbnail
- Delete button to remove unwanted segments
You can remove any segment by clicking the delete icon next to it. This won't affect your original video or other segments.
6 Generate Trimmed Video
Once you're satisfied with your segment selections, click the "Generate Trimmed Video" button. The system will:
- Combine all selected segments chronologically
- Create smooth transitions between segments
- Preserve original video and audio quality
- Generate a new downloadable video file
Processing typically takes 2-5 minutes depending on video length and number of segments. You'll receive a notification when your trimmed video is ready.
Tips & Best Practices
- Preview before trimming - Watch through your video first to identify exact timestamps of sections to keep or remove.
- Remove dead air and mistakes - Trim out pauses, "um"s, false starts, and errors to create more polished content.
- Cut at natural pauses - Make transitions smoother by trimming at natural breaks like scene changes or pauses in speech.
- Create dynamic pacing - Use multiple segments to keep content moving and maintain viewer engagement.
- Keep important context - Don't trim so aggressively that you lose necessary setup or explanations.
- Test different versions - Create multiple trim variations to find the most engaging cut for your audience.
Common Issues & Solutions
- Awkward cuts between segments? Adjust segment boundaries to align with natural pauses, breath breaks, or scene changes for smoother transitions.
- Lost important content? Review your trim list before generating. You can always regenerate with different segments - your original video is never modified.
- Segments in wrong order? Delete and re-add segments in your desired sequence. The final video follows the order of your trim list.
- Timeline hard to navigate? Use the zoom controls to get more precise views of specific sections when setting trim points.
- Processing failed? Ensure segments don't overlap and that start times are before end times. Check that you have sufficient storage space.
